With the holiday season upon us, that means Big City's Winter 2010 season is just around the corner!
With same night every week play, beautiful gyms, great refs, schedule/scores/standings all posted on line + trophies and prizes, it's no wonder we're known as NY's best league.
The 10-wk Winter Season begins January 18th, but the entry deadline for all teams is Juanuary 7th. (Individuals without teams should come to one of the Open Scrimmages listed below.)
So call your captains and teammates Big City's Winter Season is on the way!
HOW TO REGISTER AS A TEAM:
- E-mail us at info@bigcityvolleyball.com, stating your team's intention to register.
DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP OR YOUR TEAM RISKS BEING LEFT OUT!
- Register your team on-line by going to the TEAM ROSTER FORMS page.
- A $250 non-refundable deposit is required when you register.
The balance of the $1,350 registration fee ($1,100) must be paid before your first match. If your team is new to our league, pre-season Ranking Scrimmages (to determine your team's level of play) will take place January 11th & 12th.
TEAM REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 7th
HOW TO REGISTER AS AN INDIVIDUAL:
Players without teams will soon find this situation remedied!
Come to one of Big City's Open Scrimmages, ready to play, as teams form out of players at the same skill level on these nights. You'll spend a couple of hours playing volleyball, meeting people and by the end of the evening, you'll be on a team!
Look below to see which Scrimmage Night to attend. BRING YOUR CHECKBOOK because no one will be placed on a team who hasn't paid. If your team has 10 players, the fee will be $135 per person. Fewer players on a team (more playing time) will cost slightly more.
Fee includes Ranking Scrimmage + a 10-game season, playoffs, all gym rental costs, professional refs, prizes, one of our famous Big City T-shirts, and more!
GENERAL OPEN SCRIMMAGES
For players with less than 5 yrs. of league experience
Tues, January 5th, 7:30pm-9:30pm
or
Weds., January 6th 7:30pm - 9:30pm
ADVANCED OPEN SCRIMMAGE
For players with 5+ years of competitive experience
Thurs., January 7th, 7:30pm-9:30pm
**ALL OPEN SCRIMMAGES ARE AT THE HIGH SCHOOL FOR ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES**
444 W. 56th St., between 9th & 10th Ave, closer to 10th
(Accessible via 57th St. cross town bus, or take subway to Columbus Circle)
NOTE: To enter the school, you must have a valid photo I.D.
· If you cannot arrive at the evening's start time, just get there as soon as you can.
· There are facilities for changing at the school.
DIV 6 Playoff Info & Dates

Playoff Info & Dates: (Captains will be called with locations & times one day before each playoff game, or in some cases the day of.) The top 4 teams in each Division - 6B & 6C will advance to the post season. Playoff dates will be: Quarterfinals on Wed., Dec 9th; Semis on Mon., Dec 14th; Finals on Wed., Dec 16th.
Tie-Breakers: Head-to-head competition between tying teams. If still tied, it's records vs. 1st place team (or next highest team, if tied teams are tied for 1st) by winning %, regardless of # of games played. If still tied, record vs. next best team, etc.
